LOCATION
The site is situated off the northern end of Airedale Avenue, and is within a well-established residential area located 0.8 miles east of the affluent market town of Skipton (population c.15,000 persons). Longstanding housing lies across a railway line and Otley Road to the north west, with residential development to the south and south east. To the east is open / agricultural land,which is allocated for residential development in the Craven Local Plan.
DESCRIPTION
The site slopes down from south to north and extends to approximately 2.48 Ha (6.12 acres). It is currently open agricultural land and, with the adjoining area to the east, forms half of a larger site allocated for residential development in the Craven Local Plan (2012-2032). A grouping of trees lies to the north western side – adjacent to a railway embankment and is separated from the main area by an informal footpath.
