UK Infrastructure Bank Relocates to 2 Whitehall Quay, Leeds

We are delighted to share that Align Chartered Surveyors have played a pivotal role in securing the UK Infrastructure Bank’s (UKIB) new headquarters at 2 Whitehall Quay, Leeds.

The bank has committed to a 15-year lease for nearly 29,000 sq. ft. of newly refurbished office space, demonstrating its long-term commitment to the vibrant Leeds business community.

The UKIB will relocate from One Embankment to occupy three floors at 2 Whitehall Quay in early summer 2024. The new premises will provide a dynamic workspace that supports the bank’s growing needs as it continues to lead on initiatives to tackle climate change and boost economic growth across the UK.

The deal, brokered by Fox Lloyd on behalf of Britannia Invest A/S and asset manager Catella APAM , is a testament to the collaborative efforts all parties involved.

Align Chartered Surveyors worked closely with FLJ to identify the property and complete the deal in short timeframe, also working with UKIB’s facilities management team to lead fit-out across the three floors spanning 28,729 sq.ft.

This milestone comes amid a surge in demand within Leeds’ booming office market, where Q1 take-up has more then doubled compared to the previous quarter. The move solidifies UKIB’s commitment to Leeds, reinforcing the city status as a major hub for finance and professional services outside of London.

Daniel Clinch, Head of Agency, Acquisitions, and Disposals for Align Chartered Surveyors, said: “We worked very closely with UKIB to identify a location that aligned with its strategic needs. 2 Whitehall Quay emerged as a prime contender early on, and it’s thanks to the swift collaboration between agents, fit-out teams, and ourselves that this project was delivered within the required timeframe.”

A huge thank you to everyone involved for their hard work and dedication in making this transition smooth and successful. We are excited to see UKIB thrive in its space and look forward to continued partnerships in the future.
